If you are still asking “Whose Halsey?”, then you don’t listen to the radio. Halsey’s hit single Bad at Love has been playing on repeat for the past month and is often followed up with Him and I, her boyfriend G-Eazy’s new single that they recorded together. On January 13th, Halsey was the featured artist on SNL, and killed the vocals on both of these songs.
I got the chance to listen to those amazing pipes live when I went to the Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour. I’ve been a fan of Halsey since her first big album Badlands and am used to the mention of her name being met with a confused look and having to explain that they actually do know her songs (Closer, New Americana, Castle, Now or Never, etc.). So when I went to the concert I was beyond ecstatic that I was on the floor level, surrounded by hundreds of people who knew exactly who Halsey was and appreciated her true talent. Halsey’s concert was a whirlwind event that included her making her way from the stage and into the crowd so thousands of fans could attempt to touch her hand (I failed at achieving this). My favorite part of the show was when she talked about her journey to reaching this tour, took in the moment, and thanked us for letting her soundtrack our lives. I could write pages on this experience and how underrated Halsey truly is, but I will let the concert speak for itself.
