Welcome back to Fearless Music! It's Friday, which means new music, new albums and new tours! I can't wait to share it all with you!
Calvin Harris- Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1
The first New Music Friday of the week is Calvin Harris. Calvin dropped a new album today called Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1. This album is full of awesome collabs from Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and Frank Ocean! Fun fact about the album: Calvin announced the titles of the songs with a talking parrot. His single “Feels” was released a couple of weeks ago featuring Pharrell, Katy Perry, and Big Sean. Take a look at the music video below:
Astrid S- Party’s Over
Astrid S is an upcoming artist to the United States. Astrid is from a small town in Norway, but moved to Oslo at 16 to follow her successful European music career. She has collabed with artists like Avicii and Shawn Mendes. She has also joined Troye Sivan on his North American tour, which helped gain her success in the U.S. Her new EP Party’s Over is just the beginning of her music career in the United States. My personal favorite song on the EP is Such a Boy. Listen to the live version of Such a Boy by clicking the picture below:
I must admit, this is my favorite album to announce this week. The band LANY just released their self-titled album "LANY." The Los Angeles band started with three friends in Nashville before moving to L.A. The band creates a sound by combining 80’s radio pop, 90’s R&B and their own unique twist on popular music today. Fun Fact: LANY means Los Angeles to New York and wanting their music to reach coast to coast. My favorite songs on the album are Super Far and Good Girls. Just weeks after Beyoncé and JAY-Z welcomed newborn twins into the world, JAY-Z introduced his new album 4:44. When Beyoncé dropped her album “Lemonade,” speculations arised that JAY-Z had cheated on Beyoncé. Well, JAY-Z confirmed those rumors in his new album. On the album JAY-Z admits to cheating before and during their marriage. After looking on social media, the Beyhive (Beyoncé’s fan club) is not happy with the news. The album can only be heard on iHeart Radio. Click the picture below to listen for yourself:
Along with new music this week, there has also been some big music news to talk about, both good and bad. Let’s start with the bad, so we can end of a good note!
Adele Suggests Retiring from Touring
Adele has hinted on Wednesday (June 28) in a letter to a fan that touring doesn’t suit her. Adele has been on a world tour for 15 months promoting her album 25. In the letter, she talks about being a homebody and wanting things simpler. Before releasing 25, Adele struggled with the idea of fame after the birth of her son. The letter also suggests the last spot on tour will be in London because she wants to be able to play at home one last time. I have not gone to an Adele concert but I hear they are absolutely amazing! Take a look at the letter below and decide for yourself:
Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour 2.0
On the happier news of the week. Lady Gaga has announced a comeback to her Dive Bar tour. During her press of the Super Bowl performance and her album Joanne, Lady Gaga performed at small dive bars across the US. The short and small tour is called Bud Light’s Dive Bar 2.0. There are three tours announced so far:
